ASIC Diagnostics & Hashboard Maintenance Clinic
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting, chip-level diagnostics, and preventative care
An intensive one-day hardware diagnostic clinic focused on identifying hashboard hardware faults, domain voltage drops, EEPROM corruption, cold solder joints, and thermal pad degradation on modern ASIC units.
520,000 KRW per seat
Curriculum & Bench Training Sequence
This session is structured around systematic hardware diagnosis and execution. Each stage combines theoretical physics calculations with immediate hands-on verification on our Gimpo lab workstations.
Module 1: Kernel Log & Fault Code Triangulation
Decode Bitmain and Whatsminer low-level system logs: detecting under-voltage faults, temperature sensor failures (PIC errors), missing chain errors, and clock distribution issues.
Module 2: Multimeter Voltage Tracing on Hashboard Domains
Trace RI (Reset), CLK (Clock), TX (Transmit), RX (Receive), and Boost voltage rails across individual chip domains to pinpoint the exact failed ASIC chip in a series chain.
Module 3: Thermal Interface Refresh & Re-pasting
Systematic removal of dried thermal compound, aluminum heatsink ultrasonic cleaning, uniform application of 12.8 W/mK thermal paste, and correct torque-sequenced reassembly.
Expected Technical Capabilities Upon Completion
- Identify the exact reason an ASIC board is dropping chains or reporting zero hash rate.
- Master voltage probe test points to differentiate between power supply issues and board-level chip failures.
- Safely execute complete thermal reconditioning to restore factory operating temperatures.
Target Audience & Prerequisites
Who This Session Is Designed For:
- Miners experiencing dropped hashboards, missing ASIC chips in status logs, or high hardware error rates (HW errors)
- Technical operators looking to service, inspect, and revive pre-owned ASIC hardware safely
- Anyone wanting hands-on experience using diagnostic test fixtures, thermal cameras, and digital multimeters
Required Prior Knowledge:
Basic understanding of computer hardware components and safety precautions when handling powered electronics.
