Curriculum & Bench Training Sequence

This session is structured around systematic hardware diagnosis and execution. Each stage combines theoretical physics calculations with immediate hands-on verification on our Gimpo lab workstations.

Phase 1: Electrical Infrastructure & Breaker Safety

Calculate continuous load limits according to Korean electrical safety codes. Sizing 10 AWG vs 12 AWG conductors, C-curve breaker selection, NEMA 6-20 and IEC C13/C19 PDU wiring, grounding rod resistance, and surge protection device (SPD) integration.

Phase 2: Thermal Dynamics & Negative-Pressure Airflow

Calculate required CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) based on ambient delta-T. Design push-pull inline fan configurations, ducting transitions, intake filtration against dust and humidity, and prevent thermal hot-air recirculation loops.

Phase 3: Acoustic Engineering & Silencer Fabrication

Deconstruct 75-85 dB fan signatures into low, mid, and high frequencies. Build and test baffled acoustic boxes using mineral wool, mass-loaded vinyl (MLV), and anti-vibration rubber mounts to achieve sub-45 dB residential decibel levels.

Phase 4: ASIC Teardown, Deep Cleaning & Firmware Optimization

Disassemble hashboards, clean corrosion from aluminum heat sinks, replace degraded thermal paste/pads with high-viscosity compound, diagnose faulty ASIC chips via kernel log analysis, and configure power-scaling profiles.

Expected Technical Capabilities Upon Completion

  • You will confidently design a safe, fire-code-compliant 240V electrical distribution layout for your home space.
  • You will accurately compute CFM air exchange requirements to keep hashboard temperatures under 70°C in peak summer.
  • You will know how to construct practical sound-attenuation enclosures that satisfy residential noise expectations.
  • You will gain practical confidence to tear down, clean, re-paste, and diagnose ASIC hashboards independently.

Required Prior Knowledge:

Basic familiarity with household electrical concepts (volts, amps, watts) and computer networking. No prior soldering or electrical licensing required.

  • Antminer S19 Pro and MicroBT Whatsminer M30S test rigs for live disassembly
